It shows my imac share so I believe that the native afp is still working. I just want my shares back in the finder. I dont think think I ruined anything as I can still connect to my shares from the go->connect to server option, so theres some kind of smb there. I tried the typical commands which I cant rememberĪnd a few others. I just want to get back to the way things were and I dont think the developer is going to help, so could somebody help me out? I understand terminal a bit and tried some commands from and I'm not sure what happened from there. Passing non-absolute shell paths is not currently supported'. When I tried to run the app again to make sure I uninstalled everything correctly I got "An exception of class UnsupportedFormatException was not handled. I emailed the developer and responded to him as soon as he responded to me and he only emailed me back once with " What errors did you get when trying to run the built-in uninstaller" I emailed him back and told him my problem/s and he never responded back. I did the uninstall and it showed that it uninstalled the samba packages and I still dont see my networked windows 7 computer in the finder. I was able to at least see my sjhares before, now I dont see anything at all, and after installing this program my windows networked computer dont show up in the finder like it used to. I just wanted to try to incorporate this for sharing between my mbp and xbmc4xbox but it actually made things worse. I've tried everything and it just wont work. The status stood on red the whole time, and never went to green. To amet: I tried following your instructions for manual logs, but I may not be understanding them. Can somebody instruct/direct me on how to do this? I installed this smbUP but for the life of me I cant get it to work. Apple TV connecting via strong WiFi signal to that iMac and hence the files. ![]() My set-up is straightforward: iMac (with latest version of OSX) connected to external drive with video files. I may be missing something, but it seems to me that the "libdsm" function is just not maintaining a proper connection, whereas SMBup is. Once I turned libdsm off (and was back fully using SMBUp), things seem to be back to normal. ![]() That's when I realized that I had left "libdsm" on, even though I had returned to SMBup. ![]() However, after disabling SMBx, the issues were still present (at first). These are obviously major issues, and I'm not sure why they surfaced. Trying to update library (at that point) produced a "compressing database," but nothing else, and this did NOT allow my videos to play again until update library eventually worked (by repeated attempts to initiate that function). The alternate system of "pausing" by pressing Menu and returning to the home screen, and then resuming play on a given video, resulted in the video not playing at all. Pressing the Play/Pause button and then pressing play again (after about two minutes) meant that MrMC shut down completely. I found that disabling SMBx (and turning off libdsm), and then re-linking to my video library using SMBUp, was the only way to fix various issues that suddenly surfaced.
